Disney+ has over 74,000,000 subscribers all over the world
Streaming businesses keep developing globally. One of the front leaders in gaining the number of subscribers is Disney+. As of today, their number is over 74 million people! This business, which has been launched relatively recently (compared to most other business wings of Disney) turned out to be the fastest-growing wing in the number of users and brought revenues. That becomes a life-saving factor for a company, as Disneylands have been closed almost globally since March 2020 with no signs of reopening in the nearest future.
The Disney+ widening is happening on the general background of a loss of slightly over 80% of operational income by Disney in Q3 2020. This devastating number is also a result of the postponement of many films by Disney, which now all are rescheduled to 2021 and 2022 at least. So all major Disney’s investors are now worried only about increasing in Disney+ operation and rapid growth of its share in Disney’s business – to end the 2020 fiscal year with better numbers.
When the Disney+ was launched, the low-end number of 73 million was expected to be gained in 5 years. Now this goal is reached only in 11 months. Other Disney streaming services, Hulu & ESPN, also show a significant increase in numbers, to 37 M (+37% to 2019) and 10 M (+300% to 2019) subscribers accordingly.
