Hypersonic cruise missile successfully tested in the USA
A new round in the history of rocketry from the United States: Officials from DARPA and the US Air Force informed about successful test of a new rocket model. This event starts the whole test series for this model. The winged model Hypersonic Air-breathing Weapon Concept (shortly named HAWC) showed its best side at the training launch. This rocket model was created as part of the development of an air-launched test rocket; the entire process developed under a program called HAWC.
Due to the program management, main testers are satisfied with the test results and are officially ready to announce that two variants of the given concept have been successfully tested. During these approaches, the prototypes attachment means to be directly to the fuselage, taking the role of the carrier. In the near future, the primary tests of the sample in free flight are going to be taken. The estimated time for completing this stage of testing is 1 year.
